Why you should read SOS Jersey’s latest report
This easy-to-view report from SOSJ (Save Our Shoreline Jersey) focuses on a number of threats to our population and environment:
– Nitrogen pollution entering St Aubin’s Bay (HINT: Our annual sea lettuce problem!)
– Heavy metals pollution emanating from the land reclamation areas, and affecting our shellfish (extremely worrying)
– PFAS in our fresh water supply (cue health problems for Islanders)
– Pollution, specifically off the Ramsar Area (a ‘protected area’ of great environmental importance…)
– Asbestos (it’s not going away – at least not until real decisions are made)
What you can do
Tell others about this report and ask your Deputies and Ministers what they are going to do to sort out these issues.
